Andrew Duchon has expertise in the areas of computational linguistics, network analysis, machine learning, visual perception, and virtual reality. Dr. Duchon’s research generally involves the application of higher-order statistical models to understand individual and group human behavior. He has held positions as a researcher at the Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute in Japan, an NSF postdoctoral fellow at Brown University, the Director of Technology at Simpli.com (an internet search company), a research scientist at Aptima, Inc. and is currently a data scientist at Jama Software. At Brown University in 2000, he helped set up the original VENLab (Virtual Environment Navigation Laboratory) with Dr. William Warren, the largest virtual reality space at the time. Dr. Duchon holds a Ph.D. in Cognitive Science from Brown University, and a B.A. in Psychology and the Integrated Science Program from Northwestern University.
